Our ministry core ministry objectives are evangelism, discipleship, leadership, development and integral missions. The target group is students in universities and colleges in Uganda. We are present in 82 college and university campuses across Uganda and we work with over 6,000 students. Our goal is to equip the students to share the gospel with their fellow students. Our firm belief is that these students will become the future leaders of our country at various levels, and the time that they are on the campuses is the time to shape and influence their values. We are also involved in discipling and providing materially for children living in the slum surrounding our office premises as a way of responding with the love and compassion of Christ to the needs in our society and also as a way of discipling students and graduates to do the same in their respective contexts.This year we graduated 7 students from our child project. These are students who were being supported by our child project and have completed their university education. The highlight for me was to hear from their own lips and with tears in their eyes how the child project and the staff of the project had impacted their lives. All of them except one had lost both of their parents during the course of their study, and in their own words, “the project has been their parent.”
One of my highlights for the past year was seeing a student that I mentored become the assistant worship pastor at the chapel of Makerere University. I had seen the potential in him to lead people in worship and his love for music and I had encouraged him to seriously fan that gift. It brings me much joy to see him using his gift to touch the lives of many who go to this chapel.
For Prayer:
My main goal for the coming year is to increase the capacity of the staff and volunteers to reach the students effectively. I would like to see an increase in the number of dedicated fully trained volunteers-people with a passion to serve students.
